Sawyerr said that the collaboration came on the backdrop of the need to provide quality pre-hospital and hospital emergency care to ensure that Nigerians get adequate care when and where they need it.

“This partnership will help accelerate the provision of fast, reliable emergency medical response to clients and refer critically ill clients for advanced care and management, thus saving lives. Evidence suggests that a functional emergency medical services system across Nigeria can save as many as 100, 000 lives per year. This Strategic Partnership between ERA and A3C commencing this Sept. 20, will go a long way in addressing the gap in emergency care. This is a significant step in our quest to build the largest network of first responders, emergency vehicles and hospitals. Anesthesia and Critical Care Consultants (A3C) is widely respected in the medical community for providing the most advanced level of critical care that patients require in many of the country’s top hospitals. This collaboration will bring Nigerians closer to quality emergency care and save more lives. With a single call to our toll-free number, individuals with a medical emergency can access care promptly,” he said.

In her remarks, the ERA Co-Founder/Chief Executive Officer, Folake Owodunni, said that early recognition of the critically ill was a key determinant of survivability of people who fall seriously ill or have suffered physical trauma.

Owodunni said: “Early intervention, when a life threatening incident occurs, is the key to improving outcomes for patients. Often referred to as the golden hour, ERAs emergency response can really provide major advantages here. A3C can manage the critically ill even better if they reach intensive care in good time. This partnership increases the opportunity for trauma occurrences to result in full recovery for many Nigerians. Together, we will undoubtedly save more lives.”

A3C provides 24 hours a day, seven days a week, high-quality and technology-enhanced critical care services to hospitals and critically ill patients in Nigeria
