First Responder

A First Responder protects lives during the early stages of a medical emergency. As a medical first responder your duties may include administering first aid and life support skills, managing emergency scenes and crowd control, communicating with dispatchers and medical facilities about the condition of incoming patients, and reporting on discharged or transported victims.

Requirements
  • Diploma and Degree candidates from any discipline preferred (includes NYSC). Minimum secondary school certification required.
  • Ability to maintain composure and act under pressure
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate when required
  • Criminal record clearance
  • Fluent in English language
  • Previous First Aid / First Responder experience is an asset
What to expect
  • Minimum 40 hours Certified First Responder training provided
  • Additional Emergency Response Driver training
  • All candidates must pass written and practical exam to receive certification

Emergency Communications Officer

An Emergency Communications Officer protects lives during a medical emergency by coordinating communication between all stakeholders. As a Emergency Communications Officer your duties may include receiving incoming emergency requests via phone, SMS, or mobile application, using ERA technology platform to dispatch First Responders, providing remote First Aid guidance to victims while waiting for responders to arrive, and coordinating victim transfer to hospital.

Requirements
  • Diploma and Degree candidates from any discipline preferred (includes NYSC). Minimum secondary school certification required.
  • Ability to maintain composure and act under pressure
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficiency in typing at 35 w.p.m. with 90% accuracy
  • Criminal record clearance
  • Fluent in English language and one additional language
  • Previous Customer Service / First Aid / First Responder experience is an asset
