Motorcycle Medic Response
When a patient is in critical condition, heavy road traffic should not be the difference between life and death. Our Motorcycle Medic Response is made up of medical professionals who can cut through traffic to arrive on the scene within a few minutes. Motorcycle Medics arrive fully equipped to resuscitate and stabilize patients, while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. Motorcycle Medics travel with:
- Fully-stocked trauma kit
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Portable Nebulizer
- Oxygen Administration Equipment
For organizations that do not require a full ambulance standby, a Motorcycle Medic is an excellent, affordable option for 24/7 onsite response with access to ambulance services on an as-needed basis.
Estate First Responder Network
Our Estate First Responder Network enables residential communities to build a trusted network of volunteer Community-based First Responders who are equipped to provide immediate first aid treatment in emergencies before professional emergency help arrives.
The Estate First Responder Network is essential for bringing critical emergency services directly to homes in all residential estates. Emergency Response Africa will train selected volunteers in each residential estate, with core first aid and emergency response skills to provide the first line of response when household emergencies occur. As trusted members and residents of their estates, Estate First Responders will:
- Be trained to recognize early warning signs of emergency situations and know when to call for help.
- Be trained to communicate effectively with ERA’s Medical Dispatchers to achieve the fastest response.
- Be trained to deliver First Aid while help is on the way and support a successful handover of the emergency victims to ERA.
They will also:
- Help individuals and families in their respective estates make informed decisions about their health and well-being during emergencies.
- Educate residents on practical emergency prevention and first aid.
- Liaise with ERA to support emergency preparedness initiatives within the estate.
Estates that are part of the Network benefit from faster and more effective emergency response (24/7: day and night), increased safety and confidence of residents, thus building a safer and more cohesive community.
FAQ
When you call our toll-free emergency number (0 8000 2255 372), you are immediately connected to a trained medical dispatcher. The dispatcher will assess the situation (triage) and quickly connect you with the nearest available emergency responders, including paramedics, ambulances, and medical professionals. We ensure on-site treatment and, where necessary, safe transport to a verified emergency-ready hospital.
Most health insurance plans only begin to cover your care once you arrive at the hospital. Emergency medical cover ensures that you get the urgent care you need before you reach the hospital, from dispatching an ambulance to stabilizing you on-site, and getting you to the right facility fast. It bridges the gap between the incident and hospital care, which can be life-saving.
