Avoiding COVID-19 after a lockdown

COVID-19 is a mild to severe respiratory illness that is caused by a coronavirus, and it  is transmitted by contact with infectious material (such as respiratory droplets) or with objects contaminated by the causative virus. It is characterized especially by fever, cough, and shortness of breath and may progress to pneumonia and respiratory failure. A global pandemic on the 11th of March 2020 and shortly after, many countries went into various stages of lockdown.

Over the last few months, lockdowns have been eased globally to support the economy, however cases continue to climb. So, how do you stay safe while continuing your life post-lockdown?

Follow these simple tips:

  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water.
  • Wear a face mask when you go out
  • Maintain social distancing (better 6-feet apart than 6-feet under)
  • Stay indoors as much as you can, that is, go out only when absolutely necessary
  • Use your hand sanitizer as needed when soap and water are not available
