How to prevent electric shock

We rely a lot on electricity to get a lot of things done. Our microwave, iron, electric kettle, hair dryer, blender etc. all run on it. Electricity has made life easier for us. However, as with anything good in life, if not handled properly can also cause a lot of harm.

We believe that prevention is the best treatment. So here are five useful tips on how to prevent electric shock.

  1. Do not touch electric appliances with wet hands.
  2. Do not operate switches with wet fingers.
  3. Do not touch hanging electric wires.
  4. Avoid making electric connections yourself, always call a qualified electrician.
  5. Do not plug in too many devices to one socket – especially heat generating devices.

Although most of us would not do this, please do not hang clothes on electric wires. It is very risky.
